So disappointed. I ordered the salmon like I always do. It is usually served with zucchini or spinach. They served it with cabbage, which I can not eat. I told the waitress immediately and asked for an alternate vegetable. She apologized for not letting me know and took the plate away to switch out the cabbage for spinach. She came back to the table with the salmon and potatoes and no spinach. She informed me that The owner, Max, said if I wanted spinach I would have to pay for a side of spinach. I have been dining at Maxs Grill for 18 years now. They all know me. I was dumbfounded. I will never dine at Max's grill again. Shame on you Max.

I now live in Florida full time but every time I'm back in Bergen County I make a point of eating at Max's at least once. Max's special's are authentic regional Italian dishes and they are unique and delicious. My family and I have been coming to Max's since it opened and we all love it. BYOB makes it even better!

Food was good and wait staff were very friendly but the service was Very slow. I dont need to a restaurant to to be speedy but i think waitstaff should be attentive and check in on you periodically. Anytime we needed something we had to flag down the waiter which took awhile.

Have been to Max's many times the food has been fabulous each time. This time I ventured beyond the standard to order the steak on a busy night. What a huge mistake. Freezing cold shriveled meat was unpalatable. Small restaurant with Max demanding I pay for something I immediately sent back. Needless to say they were horribly inhospitable wanting to squeeze my party for what was clearly his waiter's to incompetence. Never again.

Max's Italian Grill is tucked away in Tenafly and is a great find. We've been coming here for a few years now and enjoy the food and great service. Max himself checks on his customers ensuring a great time is being had over food and drink.We had the Agnello Contadino, Pollo Marsala and Linguine con Cime di Broccoli di Rapa e Gamberi. Each dish was presented, smelled and tasted delicious. Pre meal is served with warm bread, butter and a white bean in oil antipasta.The wait staff was on point and always there to refill a glass.Thanks Max for a great dinner with the family!

Max restaurant is the best Italian food in tenfly.he uses less condiments in his cooking so you can taste what he makes. He's not only the owner but the chef as well.I would highly recommend this as everything on the menu is delicious and out-of-this-world made fresh.

Food tastes good, portions are small for the price and also slow service.
